April 7, 2010 Christie King Honored as Woman of Distinction
The Girl Scouts of North-Central Alabama recognized Christie King, along with eight other outstanding women on Thursday, April 1 at their East Alabama Women of Distinction Luncheon at Jacksonville State University. The luncheon, which took place from 11:30 a.m. to 1 p.m., paid tribute to women in eight counties who have made special contributions to their community through civic, academic and professional involvement.
“It’s great to have Christie s achievements recognized,” said Craig King, president and CEO of J. P. King Auction Co. ” She’s worked very hard and given back to her community on many levels. We’re proud to have her working with us here at J. P. King as well.”
King was recognized for her charitable and professional contribution through her company C King Benefit Auctions, where she works alongside with non-profit organizations to maximize their benefit funding through a live auction event. King founded C King Benefits after working for over 20 years with J. P. King Auction Company where she, along with her two brothers, is a fourth-generation auctioneer.
Proceeds from the luncheon provided direct support to the Girl Scouts in North-Central Alabama, which includes more than 19,000 girls in 36 counties.
