November 25, 2014 Thankfulness with a Side of King Salad
We have a tradition in the King family at Thanksgiving. We come together as a family and make “King Salad”. This tradition has been passed down for 4 generations and is a main dish at our Thanksgiving table. We like this salad so much; we made 80 pounds of it one year!!! Needless to say, we had a bit left over.
Not only do we make salad while in each other’s company, but we also reflect on everything we are thankful for.
Personally, I am grateful for not only my family and friends but nonprofit organizations who work diligently to help others – the animal who needs a home; the person battling cancer or other medical issues; the homeless person; the education of a child. This world is better because of you. Thank you for what you do to make this planet a kinder, gentler place.
I hope everyone takes time on this Thanksgiving holiday to not only enjoy good food and fun times with family and friends but to also really reflect on all you are grateful for.
My list of thankfulness is long and includes King Salad. 🙂
