November 20, 2015 “It is not joy that makes us grateful; it is gratitude that makes us joyful.” ― David Steindl-Rast

As I reflect upon this Thanksgiving holiday, I think about all of the things for which I am grateful. First of all, I am thankful for the gift that God gave me in the form of auctioneering and consulting skills. This has enabled me to help nonprofits raise millions of dollars to help a child in need, a fur baby find a home, find a cure for a disease or provide higher education to a fallen soldier’s family member. I am grateful for the passion that God gave me in helping others and hope that I use that gift to the full extent that He expects.
I am thankful for my clients who have confidence and trust in me. They listen to my recommendations then act upon them, generating a direct positive impact to their nonprofits’ bottom lines. I am grateful for the relationships I have built with my clients – I can truly call them friends.
I am blessed with my benefit auction team who work with me week in and week out: Jean, Nathan, Grant, Brynley, Patty, Terry, Sherry, Rudy, Bryan, Mike and Scott.
I am grateful for my Granddaddy who came up with the recipe for the now famous “King Salad”. This tradition has been passed down for 4 generations and is a special treat for the family every Thanksgiving and Christmas. We gather together and make gallons of this special nectar while enjoying time spent with each other as a family.
Yes, I am a lucky gal and have a lot to be grateful for.
I wish you a wonderful Thanksgiving filled with friends and family and some time to reflect on all of the things that you are grateful for.
