October 13, 2017 Vacation Here I Come!!!

I am writing this blog in advance of it’s posting.  As you read this, I am somewhere out on the Mediterranean on a cruise ship, cruising the Greek Isles on Royal Caribbean.

You see, a lifelong friend of mine, Hannes Combest and I agreed 7 years ago that we were going to travel internationally every two years. It is that time again.

There is a common theme to how we obtained most of these trips.  All but one was purchased at an auction.  Most of the rest are facilitated through consignment companies who provided these packages to nonprofit organizations who then offered them at their fundraising events.

We first started our traveling adventures in 2011 with a trip to South Africa to see our auction friends Joff and Traci van Reenen at Wooded Peaks.  What an amazing trip!

In 2013, we visited Cortona, Italy with Stacey Mattraw of Sojourn Ventures. Not only did we have Stacey with us to help translate the foreign language but while in Italy I found my Italian sister in Denyse Perathoner at Together in Tuscany. Denyse is a local travel agent who handles all of Sojourn Venture’s bookings.

We came upon the South Africa and Italy trips via auctions hosted at National Auctioneers Association events. Both of these trips were absolutely amazing.

Our last trip was a 10-day Panama Canal Cruise on Princess Cruise Lines. This was not only a lot of fun and very relaxing, we also were able to see 6 countries on this trip.

This year, we purchased our trip through Mitch-Stuart Inc., a consignment company we dearly love.  We will fly into and out of Venice, Italy. Our cruise will allow us visits to Kotor, Montenegro, Corfu, Athens, Mykonos, and Argostoli, Greece.

I am so blessed to get to see the world!
