During the National Auctioneers Association’s Virtual Conference and Show held in July, Christie King Ray took the helm as President of the National Auctioneers Foundation. She is the first female president of the Foundation and was also elected first female president of the National Auctioneers Association for the 2011-2012 term.
Christie is the President of C King Benefit Auctions located in Gadsden, Alabama. She and her team work with nonprofit organizations by consulting on both live and virtual fundraising events. She has helped raise tens of millions of dollars for her clients. Christie says, “I am truly privileged and honored to work with nonprofit clients to help them set up the most effective fundraising event possible. These clients become a part of who I am. I believe my passion for these nonprofits translates on stage or in front of the camera during the fundraising at their live or virtual events.”
In addition to her work with nonprofits under the C King Benefit Auctions banner, Christie also works in her family business, J. P. King Auction Company, a premier real estate auction company, which is also headquartered in Gadsden, Alabama. At J. P King, she serves on the board of directors and acts as Auction Administrator by overseeing and facilitating all live auction events throughout the country. Her brother, J. Craig King, President & CEO of J. P. King, serves as Treasurer of the National Auctioneers Association.
The King family are no strangers to the National Auctioneers Association, they are the only family to have had three members inducted into the National Auctioneers Association’s Hall of Fame. In addition to Christie, both of her brothers, J. Craig King and J. Scott King have all been awarded with this prestigious honor.
Christie will serve as president of the National Auctioneers Foundation for one year. The Foundation provides funding to the National Auctioneers Association to help advance and enrich the auction community. In the past 10 years, almost 2 million dollars has been awarded to the NAA to fund these projects and programs.
